It’s that time of year again! The air is crisp and pleasant, the water is inviting, and it’s time to schedule your family portraits. It’s the most beautiful time of the year to be out in the Hamptons; whether you are in West Hampton, Bridgehampton, East Hampton, Southampton, or Amangansett and Montauk...we are sure you’re itching to get out into the sand and surf. Here at Dawn Sela Photography, we have been lucky enough to have been asked to document countless families for over a decade, and the shores of Long Island is one of our favorite places to shoot. Armed with her camera, Dawn loves to tell the stories of these families and their littles; watching baby’s first trip to the water’s edge, the ocean breeze tossing around their little blond curls, or watching toddlers hold hands with mom or dad. We love handing over these portraits to the families when they’re ready, and inevitably, they bring a tear or two to the eyes of the parents.

Beach portraits never go out of style, and look beautiful, classic and timeless on the walls of your home, or bound into lovely albums. They also are a perfect option for families with small children who want to run around and laugh and play...in fact, the genuine fun and joy in those moments make for some perfect photos. The family below took advantage of a beach session, and we met up at their secluded beach house on the north fork. It was peaceful and serene, and the air was filled with the laughter of these gorgeous children.
